BARANGAY HEALTH TEAM

A Barangay Health Station is present near Lawaan Elementary School. At present, it is now utilized every Thursday (once a week) of the month from a once a month schedule in the year 2014. The health services rendered are aligned with the Department of Health programs such as nutrition related services (operation timbang and supplemental feeding) on January, Garantisadong Pambata on April and October, MR-OPV on September, and filariasis on November.

They also have monthly family planning counseling, prenatal and immunization. The health service providers are limited to one midwife, one contractual nurse under the Nurse Deployment Project (NDP), three barangay health workers (BHW’s) and one barangay nutrition scholar (BNS). Currently, occupants of the barangay seeking health services are referred to the rural health unit to be seen by the municipal health officer. In worse cases, patients are referred to the nearest hospitals which are located at the Municipality of Liloy, Titay, or Ipil
